If you get the default gateway error…you are probably using a router and it needs to be reset…just unplug it for 30 seconds and then plug it back it…usually works to fix that problem ;)

Microsoft\’s canned answers aren\’t useful for this. I agree with the idea of installing MSN 7.5. Too bad Microsoft\’s wonderful helpers assume that all users are idiots, because they don\’t include anything useful, like what port numbers they\’re trying to use. What\’s interesting to me is that I have five different computers and only one has a problem with Live Messenger. Even though I\’ve followed all their directions, killed all firewalls, killed virus scanners, and still it doesn\’t work, on any network.

HELP! Even though I followed the detailed steps, in the troubleshooter, I continue to get the same error "Your gateway appears to be offline."What can be wrong.

What is wrong with this program. I had it on my systerm at first and now I can not get it to run properly. I love the new things on it. I was playing withthe beta version for a couple of weeks there.
It sudddenly went off and when ever i would try to do auio or video conference i would get a blue screen. Well i unsintalled it and then i went back to 7.5. Now i have new hard drive and I install the new version which is not suppose to be beta and I still can not go on vidoe or audio conference withthis version.

I looked at all the info concerning the firewall and I had everthing they way it shoulfd be. It still freezes up my whole computer. I guess I will wait until they fix this. it is too annoying. Plus I was trying to take the vidoe carousel out and it will not go out it still shows the ads. Oh well I just thought i woudlpost for help just incase I have a porblem that can be resolved. ty

i have a temporary solution, just uninstall windows live messenger and use msn 7.5 untill they pull their fingers out and fix the problem, im hosting the installer, if you guys (microsoft/msn) wouldnt like me to do so just send me an e-mail at afenda@bigpond.net.au and ill gladly take it down… it will only be on here for a short while as a temporary fix.
